Organization tenancy
Isolates customer data, plan access, and administrative settings per company.
Organizations and locations define your company in Prophit.ai and where tax workflows run. Every module, upload, return, report, and KPI respects the company or location you have selected.
An organization represents your company in Prophit.ai: users, billing relationship, plan access, and the set of locations where you operate. A location is a business unit or site where tax modules can be activated and compliance data is stored separately from other locations.
Your selected company and location (active scope) controls what you see in every module. Switching location changes transaction data, certificate inventories, return periods, dashboard KPIs, and module availability without switching accounts. Multi-location companies use this model to keep Ohio operations distinct from Texas operations while sharing admin and reporting at the organization level.
Users can belong to one or more organizations with roles that determine admin capabilities. Location-level module activation ensures a warehouse with only purchasing compliance enabled does not expose sales tax workflows meant for a retail entity.
Per-location customization lets each site reflect its own operating profile, dashboard emphasis, and reporting views. KPI cards and analytics can surface organization-wide or location-specific metrics so managers see the numbers that match the scope they are working in.
Sales tax compliance software fails in production when scope is ambiguous. The Prophit.ai organization and location model mirrors how operators think: obligations attach to entities and places, not to a single undifferentiated account.
Founders, accountants, and tax leaders need clarity on how data will be partitioned before go-live. This structure supports phased rollouts: stand up one location, validate workflows, then activate additional sites.
Scope is set from the dashboard and persists across modules, Upload Center, and Returns Centers. Admin Panel is where organization admins create locations and assign modules.
Isolates customer data, plan access, and administrative settings per company.
Each location activates only the modules included in your plan and assigned by admins.
Uploads, reviews, returns, and analytics operate on the selected location unless a workspace is explicitly organization-wide (such as Returns Centers).
Dashboard cards, reports, and analytics reflect the selected organization or location so operators see relevant operating metrics.
Finance and tax teams can switch context to work location by location or use organization-wide returns views where supported.
